Dr. Brian E. McCarthy practices at
Brian McCarthy, D.P.M. is a highly competent and motivated surgically-trained podiatrist with over two decades in experience in all aspects of podiatric care. Dr. McCarthy utilizes a unique set of advanced evidenced-based techniques, knowledge and effective communication skills to improve the quality of life for each patient.
Dr. McCarthy is a solo practitioner engaged in general podiatric care including forefoot and rear foot reconstructive surgery, diabetic care, wound care, biomechanical treatment and palliative foot care. Dr. McCarthy has been practicing in Hernando County since 1993.
He completed a 24 month podiatric surgical residency at the Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from St. Michael’s College in Winooski Park, Vermont.

Diabetic foot care: preventive, routine, biomedical and surgical treatment of the diabetic foot Wound care: advanced surgical treatment and prevention of Wounds including the use of biologic materials, surgical reconstruction, and foot/limb salvage procedures.
He and his wife, Sharon, a registered nurse, have three children.
