Dr. Lingappa Amarchand practices at
Lingappa Amarchand, MD, FACP, has been in practice in Hernando County since 1993. He received his Medical Degree from J.J.M. Medical College, Mysore University, India (M.B.B.S Degree in Medicine and Surgery). He followed the degree with a rotating internship at J.J.M. Medical College Hospital, Davangere and Church of South India Hospital, India.
Dr. Amarchand completed residency in internal medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, New Jersey, where he served as Chief Medical Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine from 1988 through 1990.
His first and second years of Fellowship in Cardiology were at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. His third year of cardiology fellowship consisted of: clinical and research fellow in cardiology, cardiac nuclear imaging fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts; Harvard Medical School Research Fellow in Medicine, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Clinical Fellow in Cardiology.
Dr. Amarchand is the Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Heart Center at Bayfront Health Care in Brooksville where he also serves as Chief of Staff. In 2000-2001 he was appointed to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. Since then he has served on a wide range of committees.
He is a member of: Indian Medical Council, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, New Jersey Society of Internal Medicine, and the American College of Cardiology.
