Dr. Santosh Potdar practices at
Santosh Potdar, MD, FACS, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his residency in general surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, M.Y. Hospital in Indore, M.P., India, and completed his residency in general surgery (Masters of Surgery) at the same facility. Dr. Potdar also completed a Fellowship at the Division of Transplant Surgery at Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Potdar has extensive experience in general surgery, which also includes complex general surgery procedures and transplantation of liver, kidney, and pancreas. Dr. Potdar served as senior surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at the highly prestigious Christian Medical College & Hospital in Vellore, India. Dr. Potdar also served as director of pancreas transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh and director and head of kidney/pancreas transplantation at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
He is the author of countless abstracts and articles in peer review journals. He has been the featured presenter at national and international transplant and general surgery meetings.
Dr. Potdar is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Transplantation, and the American Medical Association.
He is married with two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys sports, golf, cricket, Indian music, and especially teaching medical students, residents and nurses.
