Anodyne is a therapeutic device that uses near infrared photo energy through light LEDS. This light can not be seen, but it creates a warm comforting feeling under the pads that are attached to the skin. The light (heat) also reduces pain. The patient may experience a decrease in inflammation. The patient may also experience an increase in drainage, dilation, and flow. There is no discomfort involved with this treatment.

When used as defined by the manufacturer instructions, this therapy has no known side effects.

Note: Diabetic patients should closely monitor their insulin levels during treatment as some patients require less insulin and may need to adjust their insulin dosage to prevent hypoglycemia.
