Barry Zalman, DO, received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and did graduate study in anatomy at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Zalman completed a rotating internship at Orlando General Hospital in Orlando and family medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also served a residency in general surgery at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Zalman has practiced medicine in Florida for nearly 30 years. From 1995 to 2001 he served as Chief of Staff at Shands Hospital at Starke. The majority of Dr. Zalman’s medical experience includes primarily emergency medicine and hospital medicine.
Dr. Zalman is a member of the following societies: American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Practice, Florida Academy of Family Practice. He has also been a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practice, American College of Emergency Physicians,and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Zalman is married with three children and one grandson. He enjoys golf and RVing.
